The promise
Hegseth repeatedly emphasized restoring the “warrior ethos” within U.S. Armed Forces and rebuilding trust in military leadership. In his first 100 days, he highlighted physical training, accountability, and morale as central pillars. He promised cultural renewal: respect for tradition, discipline, and mission focus over peripheral concerns.
