During the November 18, 2025 meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Trump discussed Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords. Trump said he had received a positive response, while the crown prince said Saudi Arabia wanted good relations but also wanted a clear path toward a two-state solution. Trump avoided calling it a firm commitment, but he clearly framed Saudi participation as an active diplomatic objective. The idea is important because Saudi normalization with Israel would be one of the largest Middle East diplomatic breakthroughs since the original Abraham Accords. However, the Saudi position included conditions related to Palestinians and regional peace. That makes the promise uncertain and dependent on issues outside Trump’s direct control. Since Trump himself said he did not want to use the word “commitment,” this should be tracked as a plan or diplomatic goal rather than a hard promise. It remains in work, not kept, because Saudi Arabia had not joined the Abraham Accords at the time of the statement.
