The promise

DeSantis pledged to eliminate the Business Rent Tax in Florida, which taxes businesses on rent payments, arguing it is unfair to small businesses. In his 2025 budget proposals, he includes repeal of the Business Rent Tax to provide tax relief to businesses. The repeal is part of his fiscal-responsibility agenda. If enacted fully, it would relieve many small and medium firms from a costly tax burden.
